What do sea turtles eat

A sea turtle’s diet will vary from one species to another, much like any other turtle. However, there are many sea turtle enthusiasts that would enjoy this tidbit of knowledge. While it does vary from one type to another; there are a few basics that are well known throughout all of the species.
The most common sea turtle (and most beloved) is the hawksbill sea turtle. This species is known to be omnivores; meaning, they will be found eating both plant life and meat alike. However, there are several different types of sea turtles who may sway closer to being herbivores or carnivores.
  Some of the favorite treats of sea turtles are:

  • Sea sponges
  • Jellyfish
  • Mollusks
  • Grasses
  • Aquatic plant life
  • Squid
  • Shrimp
  • Carrion
