Snapping turtle

The Snapping turtle (or Chelydra Serpentina) is a well-known turtle who is popular among many for pets. However, this isn’t a heavily recommended animal for captive turtle ownership. Due to its aggressive nature, these animals should never be kept by families with children; as these turtles have a propensity for biting and have the strength to cause major injuries.
While they have a reputation for being overly-aggressive, they do tend to be shy which may be the cause of their biting. They generally retreat from almost anything except that in which they need to defend themselves from or food.
These turtles are freshwater turtles that are found in America. There are three different breeds of this species the Alligator snapping turtle, Common snapping turtle, and the Florida snapping turtle; all ranging in many different sizes from small to large.
These animals are not social! They should never be kept as pairs unless you intend to breed them.
