Common musk turtles

The Common Musk Turtle (otherwise termed the stinkpot) is one of the most common musk turtles around the world; hence the name. They are a fairly dull looking turtle in comparison to some of the box turtles you may have to choose from. However, with that said; despite the musky odor they secrete and their overall dull looks. The common musk turtle makes a wonderful pet!

They range anywhere from three to five inches in size, making it easier to house them in a smaller aquarium or tank. All they really need is shallow water and a little bit of dry land to happily exist in captivity.

When feeding them, you should try to supplement live feeders with the specially formulated turtle pellets will keep them at a healthy weight.
As with any other turtle, it is important to have a knowledgeable vet to take a look at your new pet. They are essential to the healthy life of a common musk turtle.
