Chinese golden thread turtle

The Chinese golden thread turtle (otherwise known as Ocadia Sinensis) is a gorgeous turtle that many have fallen head-over heels for. They are a slow-moving turtle that are found often times in creeks, ponds, lakes, and rivers. They are known to thrive in many different climates from the cooler ranges to the heated tropical temperatures found in Southeast Asia.

These turtles generally range anywhere from six inches to twelve inches. The females being the larger of the two; making it easier to separate between the genders of the turtles. However, much like any other turtle; it is important to find a reputable rescue or breeder to adopt your Chinese golden thread turtle from.

Their habitat should include a temperature of the low to mid eighties to nineties for basking. Their water temperature should be anywhere between seventy to eighty degrees. As you have come to notice, they do need both water and land; half and half works best for these turtles!
