Chinese box turtle

A Chinese box turtle is a wonderful pet to have. They are a species of box turtle that are known by many different names. Some of these names that you will find them by are the snake eating turtle, yellow margined box turtle, and the golden headed turtle. They are also known by the scientific name the Cistoclemmys flavomarginata or cuora flavomarginata.

They are known for their high, domed shell. The shell’s carapace and plastron are a deep brown save for the creamy yellow stripe that runs along the keel.

With this breed of turtle, you will need to make sure that you have a vet that specializes in the care of turtles. They will of course require a special type of habitat; which is well maintained.
